There’s something about spring that makes us want to get to work on our homes and make them look lovely. Some say it’s a seasonal instinct to ‘feather our nests’, while others simply blame the bright sunlight showing up clutter and dirt more clearly! But whatever your motivation, why not indulge your seasonal urges and drop in on the biggest home and lifestyle show of the year?
The Ideal Home Show in Earl’s Court has already opened its sizeable doors to the public, but don’t worry if you haven’t got a ticket yet: they’re still available to buy, and the show runs until 5 April.
Make sure you leave plenty of time to explore the show’s numerous areas and exhibits, as it’s bigger than ever, with hundreds of exhibitors to inspire your domestic tendencies. There’s an emphasis throughout the show on how to live more sustainably, with advice on energy saving and green living.
Now in its 102nd year, the show consists of eight shows under one roof. As well as showcasing all the latest developments in interior decoration and home-improvement , its has areas focusing on gardening, food, household appliances, a ‘how to’ theatre where you might learn a domestic trick or two and a ‘book club’ where you can meet writers from the home and lifestyle field.
Tickets for the show can still be bought in advance, costing £10 per adult on any weekday, £12 on weekend days. They are £15/£17 on the door.
