Slow Parenting Spring Special: have a Slow Life Easter

Easter is just days away now, and if you are still planning your festivities, why not add some Slow Life touches to your usual traditions?  Even the White House is having a more conscious Easter this year.

This week, the White House announced that eggs used in its 5 April roll will be made from paperboard that contains no wood fibers from endangered forests, are recyclable, and feature vegetable-oil based inks and a water-based coatings. They will also be stamped with the signatures of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama

Follow in the Obama’s footsteps and use natural products when it comes to your Easter basket for example. You might have a wooden basket in your house already – maybe a wicker one for your bike – which you could decorate with moss from your garden or some daffodils, which are in bloom at the moment.

Eco Gifts is just one of many online shops with some great ideas for kids toys. Little presents such as a boomerang are perfect and don’t have to cost a fortune, its the quality time you spend with your kid playing around that really counts.

For ideas on how to organize an Easter egg hunt, j&o has this fab guide here, which also includes tips on organic chocolate Easter eggs.

And if you are dying your own Easter eggs this year, we’ve got a step-by-step video guide on how to achieve different colours and effects.
