When Rebecka Hoh-Hale got married a few years ago she knew that her love of vintage would have to be reflected in the wedding reception. An avid collector she gathered everything from vintage tea sets to table decorations and, after her wedding, decided to found A Most Curious Party to share her finds with other brides.
More and more brides want to have an individual wedding that incorporates heirlooms, personal items and one-of-a-kind vintage deco, but most don’t have the time to be traipsing the boot sales, eBay and charity shops or are fed up of explaining how they want to serve strawberries in tea cups.
This is where A Most Curious Party comes in: brides can choose from a vast list of table decorations – cake stands, tea sets, bird cages, table cloths, Victorian candle sticks - and other props from vintage typewriters, feathers, mirrors, a working gramophone and black ravens. You name it, they’ve got it.
For those undecided on the theme of their wedding, Rebecka also offers a range of themed packages such as Alice in Wonderland (complete with ‘Eat Me’ labels), Love (picnic hampers adorned with hearts) or a Chinese theme complete with lanterns and parasols. This Victoriana wedding, which Rebecka recently put together, is a great example of how to incorporate traditions and personal heirlooms into a wedding.
A Most Curious Party is a great solution even if you are not planning your big day: birthdays, parties and any sort of fete will come to life with a hint of vintage.
